Plant-based milk is just as good or better than dairy. Stop the drama.
Plant-based milk in 2026 — oat, almond, soy, pea — works as well as dairy in 90% of use cases and beats it in some (oat in coffee, especially). The "real milk" defensiveness is mostly cultural, not culinary.

oat in coffee, sure, but the protein comparison people gloss over — dairy's ~8g/cup, soy's close at ~7g, oat and almond are more like 1-3g unless fortified, and fortification varies a lot by brand and region. casein's gel structure is also still doing real work in baking and cheese-making that none of the alt-milks replicate yet, that's chemistry not nostalgia. day-to-day coffee/cereal use is basically solved though, agreed there.
