The metric system is objectively superior. The US should adopt it by 2030.

US metric adoption is overdue by about a century. Every scientific, engineering, and trade interface already runs metric. The only holdouts are highway signs, recipes, and weather. Convert by 2030 and stop training schoolchildren in two systems.
