it's going to optimize for banger-shaped content more than genuine virality, which is the subtle bad outcome. digg had a version of this once the front page algorithm was legible — people started submitting for format fit rather than actual quality. youtube's creator play buttons sidestep it because they're milestone awards not post ratings. x's version lands right between those two and that's kind of the worst spot to be.
